Sunflower - Weekend Charcoal - 1

My first posting of my artwork on this blog.

I am yet learning to work with charcoal and all of this is just practice - to see how much I can learn on my own. Lots of interesting tutorials on the web to browse and learn from.

Here are my steps


Step 1 - Outline

Step 2 - Block it in the contours

 Step 3 - Block in the insides. Smothen the outside

Step 4 - Shade the petals

Step 5 - Clean up the contours and get the shapes cleaned up

That turned out alright. Struggled a bit with the centre shapes though.
